«Ovum (oocyte) donation opens a possibility to get pregnant and give birth to a healthy child for women who aren’t able to conceive a baby by means of their own sex cells»

With this treatment method, donor’s ovums are fertilized with the sperm of a husband, a partner, or a donor. Subsequently, the embryo obtained by this method is transferred into the uterine cavity of the female recipient for subsequent gestation period.

Oocyte donation is not an easy step for a woman. But, in certain situations, this is the only way to feel the joy of a new life birth – the birth of a child.

Indications for oocyte donation program

  • Women with early diminishing of the ovarian reserve (early menopause due to ovarian surgery, which resulted in  depletion of the oocyte reserve);
  • late reproductive age of a woman in which the possibility of high-quality ovums fertilization is absent;
  • women who have had chemotherapy or radiation therapy, that resulted in depletion of their ovarian reserve;
  • primary ovarian insufficiency  – (if the menstruation has not occurred during puberty)
    – Turner syndrome (absence of one sex chromosome-karyotype 45X0); syndrome of ovarian resistance to gonadotropins – lack of response to stimulation of own pituitary hormones and response to medicated stimulation;
  • premature (secondary) ovarian insufficiency – is an extinction of ovarian function before 40 years (while the menstrual cycle becomes irregular and completely disappears) – it is present in case of an inherently small ovarian reserve; severe autoimmune diseases – often due to severe autoimmune thyroiditis; prolonged toxic effects of certain factors on the woman’s body;
  • absence of ovaries (surgical castration) – due to (tumors, cysts) formations;
  • n case when women are affected by certain genetic diseases, including mitochondrial disorders;
  • women with multiple IVF cycles failures, impaired embryonic development processes.

Benefits of egg donation program

  • effectiveness of the program in our medical center is 78.6% using PGT-A (NGS) for the transfer of one embryo;
  • all our oocyte donors are mothers of their healthy children. The donor must have no reproductive diseases, such a woman must be in good physical and psychological condition;
  • this method of fertilization does not require hormonal stimulation of the ovaries and anesthesia for the recipient mother;
  • a large choice of oocyte donors in our cryobank, which ensures a thorough selection according to the maximum number of criteria and effectiveness for our patients;
  • all oocyte donors undergo a complete medical and genetic screening before the approval of the program start;
  • this treatment program ensures the lowest risk of pregnancy termination due to chromosomal diseases associated with maternal age;
  • this program allows to preserve embryos with good morphology by vitrification technique (safe freezing) and promotes high chances for a healthy pregnancy and birth of healthy infants in future without a repeated fertilization program with egg donation.

Indications for oocytes donation program

  • Consultation
    Engaging in donor oocytes fertilization program is an important decision. During this consultation, a woman receives detailed information about the treatment stages and a candidate for oocyte donors is selected based on the physical and clinical data of a recipient woman.
  • Coordination of all medical center departments
    After signing all medical and legal documents, all departments of the medical center are coordinated to combine their efforts ensuring the highest result of the program;
  • Sperm preparation
    Following performance of necessary tests, a man is required to keep sexual abstinence for several days. After sperm donation, spermatozoa are prepared for a donor’s eggs fertilization, another option is to choose a sperm cryopreservation (freezing) for the purpose of subsequent fertilization of donor oocytes.
  • Fertilization
    Thawing donor oocytes or obtaining them with subsequent fertilization
  • Embryo culture
    When required, preimplantation genetic testing of embryos (PGT) and cryopreservation of embryos are being perormed;
  • Endometrial preparation for embryo transfer
    The endometrium is the membrane in the uterine cavity where the embryo is attached (implanted). The endometrium must be properly prepared and fully synchronized with an embryo, in order to properly ensure the implantation conditions and subsequent development. In our medical center, we thoroughly pay particular attention to all aspects of the synchronization between embryo and  endometrium. It is extremely important to consider the anatomical features of the uterine cavity, state of blood vessels (blood supply), immune system, hormones, which enables achieving the best result in getting pregnant and bearing a child.
  • Embryo transfer into a uterine cavity
    Most commonly, embryo transfer is performed on the fifth day of progesterone support influence on a woman’s body. Being completely painless this procedure requires a woman to be in the right mood to meet her baby as well as following all the recommendations of the consulting physician to ensure maximum effectiveness of an embryo implantation and gestation period.
  • Pregnancy test
    Pregnancy confirmation test is subject to be performed 2 weeks after embryo transfer into uterine cavity.

Sperm donation programs

The cryobank of Reprolife medical center provides the opportunity to use donor’s cryopreserved semen for IVF and artificial insemination programs to treat patients infertility.

All sperm donors undergo rigorous medical examinations, genetic testing, consultation services of urologist, therapist, and psychiatrist. Reprolife Medical Center adheres to privacy policy for both patients and donors.

Indications for use of the sperm donation program

  • Male infertility types in which spermatozoa are fully absent in the ejaculate;
  • In case of impossibility to obtain spermatozoa from the testis and epididymis;
  • Due to genetic deceases in man;
  • Women without a male partner.
